UGREEN US221 USB-C 2.5 Inch SATA HDD SSD Enclosure

The UGREEN US221 is a 2.5 inch SATA HDD SSD enclosure that turns a spare laptop drive into fast, portable storage. Its USB Type-C port uses the USB 3.1 Gen 2 interface, rated for up to 10Gbps theoretical bandwidth, so moving documents, photos, videos and backups is quick and simple.

If you are searching for a reliable UGREEN enclosure for an old HDD or SSD, the US221 fits 7mm and 9.5mm drives and supports tool-free installation. It works with Windows, macOS and Linux, so you can use it for everyday backups at home, at the office or on the move.

Key Features

• USB-C 10Gbps (USB 3.1 Gen 2): Gives a high-speed connection between your drive and a compatible computer, which helps reduce waiting time when copying large files.
• 2.5 Inch SATA HDD and SSD support: Works with both hard drives and solid-state drives, so you can reuse drives you already own.
• 7mm and 9.5mm drive thickness: Fits most common laptop-size drives without extra adapters.
• SATA III / II / I interface: Supports several SATA generations, so older and newer drives can both be used.
• UASP support: Helps the drive handle data requests more efficiently on compatible systems.
• Tool-free installation: Lets you install the drive without a screwdriver, so setup takes only a few moments.
• USB bus-powered: Needs no external power adapter, which keeps your desk and travel bag tidy.
• Supports up to 6TB: Leaves room for large backup libraries, media collections and project files.
• Compact ABS housing (approx. 128.5 × 82 × 14mm): Light and easy to carry in a bag or pocket.

Why Choose This UGREEN US221 2.5 Inch SATA HDD SSD Enclosure

This enclosure gives old laptop drives a second life. Instead of buying new external storage, you can put an unused 2.5 inch SATA drive inside the US221 and start using it right away.

The included 50cm USB-A to USB-C cable connects to standard USB-A ports, and a compatible USB-C host can also be used with a separately obtained data cable. Setup is straightforward, and the bus-powered design means one cable handles both power and data.

It is a practical choice for anyone who wants a simple UGREEN enclosure for file backups, drive recovery or extra portable storage.
